One More Peach

Reach into the tree and take one. Most are peaches and they go in your hand; some are wasps, and a wasp takes the best peach you are holding. The third one runs you off the tree with nothing. Carry your hand to the basket whenever you like — what is in the basket is safe, but that tree is finished for you and you move on to the next. Five trees to a run, and a line to beat.

Premium adds the Pecan Grove and Apple Row — different trees, different sums to do.
How it works
  • Everything in the tree is shown to you. Ten small peaches, seven middling, five big ones, and six wasps. Take one and it is gone from the tree, so the odds move with every reach — and you can see exactly how far.
  • A peach is worth its size — one, two or three — and it goes in your hand.
  • A wasp gets at the biggest peach in your hand and you drop it — gone in the grass, and it is not coming back. If your hand is empty it just stings your pride.
  • The third sting runs you off the tree and you drop everything you were holding. Two you can stand.
  • Carrying banks your hand and moves you to the next tree. What goes in the basket cannot be taken back out — but that tree is finished for you, whatever was still hanging in it. Five trees to a run means five baskets, so carrying after one peach costs you the other six you might have had.
  • The line is what a careful picker carries home from these very trees — not a guess, but a fact about this orchard today. Beat it and you have picked better than careful.
  • Every run has a number, so you can hand a friend the very same trees in the very same order.
  • On a keyboard: Space or Enter takes one more, C carries your hand home.
