God’s Word is a spiritual compass for our lives
“Stuck In Reverse” was a plan I recently completed on Bible App. It was from In Touch Ministries / Charles Stanley, and this is a portion that popped out at me from the last day, in the Devotion section:
God’s Word is a steady, sure compass for our lives. When we study it each day, God will apply His principles to our lives—and an entirely different world will open before us.
— Charles Stanley
Someone once told me, “Dreams are just dreams—who cares?” They had a point; you certainly can’t let dreams dictate your life. I rarely remember what I dream about, but one recurring dream from years ago has always stuck with me.
In it, I had just bought a car that was supposed to be in perfect working order. But sometimes, whenever I shifted into Drive, the car would throw itself into Reverse. It seemed to happen more often only when someone was with me. It was deeply frustrating, capturing that helpless feeling of having zero control over where you’re headed.
Thankfully, God didn’t leave us with something so erratic to navigate life. He gave us His Word, an unwavering guide we can trust to lead us in the right direction when we choose to follow it.
Making time for the Bible each day isn’t just a good habit; it’s essential maintenance for the soul. The world constantly pulls us off course, but daily Scripture provides the steady clarity we need to navigate life’s decisions. When we immerse ourselves in God’s truth every morning, we find the wisdom, peace, and confidence to keep moving forward in His purpose.
